The highly coveted BCS examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, opening doors to civil service jobs under the government. Year after year, a multitude of aspirants vie for limited spots. To start your journey, you must complete the application process. Here’s a thorough guide to help you apply smoothly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To start your application process, visit the BPSC portal: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the only portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Avoid from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Navigate to the latest BCS exam circular under the “Notices”. The circular contains all essential information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other relevant instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Go through the guidelines, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The usual age limit is 21 to 30 years for general candidates, but exceptions are offered for specific groups such as freedom fighter descendants or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the official application form (Form 1). Enter all necessary fields, such as basic information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Review for any mistakes. Providing invalid information can lead to cancellation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a recent copyright-sized photograph (with dimensions 300x300, file size below 100KB) and your signature (with dimensions 300x80, file size below 60KB). Make sure these meet the specifications mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After finishing the online form, you will receive a User ID. Use this ID to settle the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually 700 taka for general candidates and BDT one hundred for others. Follow the instructions provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will be sent a confirmation SMS with a payment confirmation code. Keep this ID for future reference. Log back into the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Send your application well before the deadline to bypass last-minute delays.

Print a copy of the final application form for future use, such as for printing the admit card.

By complying with these processes, you can complete your application for the BCS exam and get one step nearer your aspiration in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Best wishes!
